learn about us ⤵

At Pediatric Neuro-Immune Care in the Midwood neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, we offer comprehensive, compassionate, and cutting-edge pediatric care for children and teens with complex neurological, immunological, and environmentally triggered health conditions. Daniel Shtraykher, DO, FAAP, and the team use advanced diagnostic tools and specialized training to provide personalized therapies that help children thrive.

Whether your child needs care for narcolepsy, neurological disorders, or seizure disorders, we provide ongoing monitoring and follow-up care to track symptoms, ensure treatment effectiveness, and adjust care plans as your child grows and changes.

We offer Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT), a validated, computerized tool used to assess cognitive function following head injury or concussion. We can also utilize this unique tool to establish a baseline in the event of future injuries and monitor their mental development.

Dr. Shtraykher can investigate and treat abrupt changes in your child’s behaviors and anxiety levels, since these may indicate immune system and infection-triggered disorders. He began his career by providing expert treatments for Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS) and Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS) and has maintained the leading edge of current research to address mold toxicity and environmental illness.

Every child is unique, and so is their treatment. We tailor therapies to your child’s specific needs, which may include medication management, nutritional and environmental support, immune modulation, cognitive rehabilitation, behavioral therapy, and school-based accommodations.

Our mission is to restore hope, improve your child’s quality of life, and support healing through science-based, individualized pediatric care. Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis or seeking expert follow-up, we will guide and partner with your family for the long haul.

Meet Dr. Shtraykher

Dr. Daniel Shtraykher, D.O., FAAP is a board-certified pediatrician in Brooklyn specializing in neuro-immune conditions in children. His practice began with PANDAS and PANS—disorders where sudden OCD, tics, or anxiety are triggered by infections—but quickly expanded as he discovered that many children actually have chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS), also known as mold illness, at the root of their symptoms.
comprehensive care for kids

Today, Dr. Shtraykher provides comprehensive care for kids with PANS/PANDAS, mold toxicity, and related neuro-immune disorders, using an integrative and evidence-based approach. He also treats autistic children with folate transport problems, offering folinic acid (leucovorin) therapy that has helped nonverbal children gain speech and communication skills
uncover the real drivers

Known for combining careful medical evaluation with practical, accessible treatment, Dr. Shtraykher accepts Medicaid and most major insurance plans. His mission is to uncover the real drivers behind children’s neuropsychiatric symptoms—whether infections, autoimmunity, environmental toxins, or folate metabolism—and to help families find answers when standard approaches fall short.
